Concrete Floor Leveling Burnaby

Concrete floor leveling was required as our client was looking to renovate their floors. This photo was taken in a Burnaby residence home.

Have you ever seen floors that looked slightly uneven? Or even worse, made creaks and squeaks and shifted while you walked over them? This is usually caused when a floor is installed on an unlevel sub-floor. If flooring is installed on an unlevel concrete slab, you run the risk of cracked boards, joint breakage, and excessive movement of your floors. Most flooring installers will void their warranty if they are installing on a floor that hasn't had proper concrete floor leveling work done on it. Bottom line here, if you are doing any floor renovation work, make sure you hire a concrete floor leveling professional. While a level floor might not increase your property value, an uneven floor will definitely decrease it. Potential buyers will look at an unlevel floor and see it as a major flaw of the building and decrease their valuation accordingly. If you have to replace the floors after the fact, this is also costly to you. Don't make the mistake that other homeowners have made, hire a concrete floor leveling professional to make your floor perfectly level.

Concrete Leveling Burnaby

Getting your concrete slab leveled is actually a code requirement when doing work on your floors. When our team works on your sub-floor, we make sure we get the surface to the exact specs you need while keeping your home spotless. To begin the process, we seal off any areas that dust could potentially enter and tape off the base boards. A dust control system is also put in place to help promote good air flow for some ventilation in the site.

Once the site is prepped, we first start with grinding the surface which removes any dirt and impurities on the surface such as drywall, paint, and bacteria. This is done to make sure the bond between the subfloor and flooring materials is strong for many years to come. As the impurities are being removed, our team checks for any damaged spots or cracks in your concrete. If a crack is found caulking is done and for surface damage we do a quick patch up.

When the surface is cleaned up, we seal the floor with a primer which further helps establish the bond between the sub-floor and the flooring materials. As the primer dries, our team will begin the pouring of the concrete. Through years of concrete floor leveling work, we have established a method that allows for a quick pour. This ensures the floor dries together and remains level as one unit.

As the self leveling compound begins to dry, the levelness of the surface is checked by a straight edge and lasers. We check against the specs that you requested for the levelness of the surface. For the finishing touches, we clean up the site and remove any spray foam and concrete drips.
